Project Engineer
position will be supporting a Project Manager by driving various aspects of project coordination and execution during the project lifecycle for the AP1000 Bulgaria Project. Once experience and qualification are achieved, may be assigned portions of a project under supervision of a Project Manager. All project management is performed in accordance with the established Westinghouse policies, procedures, systems, and requirements.
Your Day to Day Utilize interpersonal skills to develop positive relationships with team and stakeholders to effectively drive project assignments to completion. Support Project Manager (PM) in the project planning process including drafting and revising project assets (e.g., project plan, lessons learned report) and client deliverable documentation. Organize and drive coordination or scheduling meetings with internal and external stakeholders. Develop cadence and rigor for proper periodicity and necessary engagement in conjunction with the PM and all key stakeholders. Manage project status reporting to support PM utilizing the necessary PowerBI and other approved tools with both Westinghouse and Consortium Partner (HDEC) inputs. Support PM requests within project communications to internal and external stakeholders to ensure consistency of messages with the overall project's direction. Support project manager to properly close project by archiving work in financial, scheduling, and document management. Identify and communicate opportunities for improvement, lessons, and risk avoidance for future work. Promote continuous improvement to enhance completion of assigned tasks: Identify, assess, and implement improvement opportunities that will add value with approval from Project Manager.
Who You Are:
Bachelor's degree in applicable discipline; such as: Project Management, Engineering, Business, Construction Management or related technical discipline. 5-10 years of project management related experience or experience in a technical role in nuclear or construction industry. Any project management or project controls related certifications (Scheduling, estimating, earned value, risk, etc.) or familiarity with the Project Management Institute's Project Management Body of Knowledge will be viewed as a plus. Required Skills/Competencies:
Strong verbal and written communication skills Planning and Organization Teamwork Driving for Results Ability to navigate internal and external stakeholders to develop a common valuable product Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office tools. Knowledge and skill with project scheduling (Primavera or Microsoft Project) a plus.
