Job Details
Responsibilities:
1. Conduct comprehensive legal research and synthesize complex information to support case preparation.
2. Draft and edit court pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda under the guidance of attorneys.
3. Assist in the management of business litigation cases, including the collection of evidence, interviewing witnesses, and preparing case summaries.
4. Handle commercial collections, including drafting demand letters, negotiating payment plans, and initiating legal action when necessary.
5. Coordinate and manage timelines and deadlines to ensure timely filing of legal documents.
6. Communicate effectively and professionally with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and team members.
7. Maintain organized case files and manage the electronic document database.
8. Attend court proceedings and assist attorneys in trial preparation and execution.
Qualifications:
1. A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Litigation Paralegal, preferably in business litigation and commercial collections.
2. Possess a Paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program or equivalent.
3. Demonstrated proficiency in legal research and legal writing.
4. Experience in drafting court pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda.
5. Knowledge of court rules, procedures, and evidence.
6. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize tasks.
7. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and maintain a professional demeanor under pressure.
8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research platforms such as Westlaw or LexisNexis.
9. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
10. High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
11. Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain client confidentiality.
