IS Computer Support Technician (8015)

Overview:
ACS Professional Staffing is looking for an employee to work on-site with our client. This IS Computer Support Technician position will maintain software inventories and licenses, install and provide support for applications, and assist users with software requests and license tracking. This role includes providing technical system support, managing network access, and ensuring network security. Additionally, the Technician will resolve IT-related issues, document customer service requests, and maintain laptops and remote access tools. The position requires strong communication skills and participation in emergency response and refueling outage support.
This full-time position is located in Richland, WA. Pay rate: $23.20 - $27.31 Benefits: Sick Leave:

Calm App, Access Perks Responsibilities: Maintain inventory of software and licenses, and provide support for software installation and maintenance. Assist users with software requests, track progress, verify approval status, and manage license tracking. Provide technical system support and assist users with available applications and programs. Support IS analysts in system management tasks. Manage password support and network access, including access to network folders. Maintain network security workgroups. Act as primary customer interface to develop specific hardware and software configuration requirements for telephone and data transmission needs. Provide effective communication with various groups to ensure customer satisfaction. Receive and document customer computer and network trouble calls, monitoring for trends or recurring issues. Provide advanced technical assistance in resolving IT-related problems involving hardware, software, compatibility conflicts, application operations, connectivity, network, and security issues. Log customer information into service request tickets and manage tickets from inception through closure, meeting user expectations and IT service commitments. Attend meetings and training sessions. Maintain the fleet of laptop computers, load software and e-mailboxes for checkout, and re-image laptops for future use. Image customer computers and laptops as needed. Provide administration and support for Remote Secure Access, including tracking approvals, distributing tokens, and assisting with application setup and ongoing use. Participate in the Emergency Response team (ERO) when designated. Support the biennial refueling outage. Requirements: An AA degree in a computer-related field, or an unrelated AA degree plus 1 year of experience, or in lieu of a degree, a High School diploma plus 3 years of directly related experience in Information Systems/Help Desk. High school diploma or GED required. Associates degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Sciences, Engineering, or related fields preferred. Basic knowledge of client/server infrastructure, computer/help desk support, local area networks, and desktop computer architectures. Thorough understanding of the duties in a computer support field environment. Ability to obtain and maintain unescorted access to Columbia Generating Station. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Competent application of computer knowledge. Ability to understand and follow written and oral procedures. Effective oral communication with customers and vendors for problem solving and troubleshooting. Proficiency in written communication, including software documentation, systems presentations, and procedure writing. Exceptional customer service skills and IT problem-solving capabilities preferred. Working knowledge of Nuclear Regulatory environments preferred. Experience supporting and troubleshooting Windows Operating System and Microsoft Server, client-server computing, middleware, and TCP/IP networking. Familiarity with Microsoft applications such as Office, Internet Explorer, SCCM, and SCOM. Knowledge of IT telecommunications environments, such as telephone circuits, data communications, and plant cabling concepts. Work sponsorship is not available at this time.
