Position Description Intern with Micron Technology Inc., one of the world's largest semiconductor companies. Our equipment software team is looking to hire a self-motivated embedded or system software engineering summer intern. This intern would develop system or embedded software. You will work with other software engineers and other engineering disciplines to help create and support custom semiconductor testers design and built by our group from the ground up. We work in a challenging, results-oriented, multi-discipline design engineering environment. We create and support software for a variety of equipment created by our multi-discipline design team. Daily Work The daily work of our equipment software team involves: + Embedded software development (bare metal, Linux development), hands-on hardware debug, providing input to schematic design, reviewing PCB layouts, prototyping circuits, debugging analog and digital hardware, testing, and creating documentation. + System software development for back-end command and control framework, leveraging IOT protocols, interfacing with third party control devices, automating testing, and creating documentation. + Coding primarily in C++, and Python under Linux for various microcontrollers and computing modules acting as the interface to custom hardware. Other languages are used as needed. + Working in cross-discipline design teams involving software, electrical, controls, and mechanical engineers. + Collaborating globally with other team members.
