Sr. Network Engineer

Under limited supervision, performs one or more of the following activities on the company's internal networks: configuration management, system administration, security administration, network administration, development system implementation, production system implementation. Responds to issues related to environment, hardware, system, and/or software and implements resolution across technology areas. Supports multiple systems simultaneously, and provides leadership for large project efforts. Provide support or lead activities related to change management, outage management and/or project management.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in IT related engineering, computer science or information systems or related field plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or 5 years of work experience in engineering or information technology environment. The employer will alternatively accept a Master's in in IT related engineering, computer science or information systems or related field plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or 3 years of work experience in engineering or information technology environment in lieu of a Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of experience. The position requires experience with: Education/experience in Network Engineering/Telecom/Cyber security to help analysis and assessment of Network Security risks using various tools. Network device configuration and bug fix management - Scan Network Devices periodically to identify missing patches and Configure BGP, HSRP and VLAN trucking 802.1Q, VLAN Routing on network switches and routers. Automation and scripting workflows to aid in Data analysis and generate reporting for network compliance. Programming skills - Python, Ansible to develop framework and remediate against security risks and apply bug fixes on network switches and routers. Platform automation - GitHub, Jenkins, CI/CD pipeline. Familiarity with networking concepts IPV4/IPV6, Route/Switch technologies, F5 Load Balancer upgrades. A related advanced degree may offset the experience requirements.
