These skills promote inclusion, independence, self-sufficiency, and productivity; and aim to maximize the individual's quality of life in the least restrictive environment possible.Choices for People assists in individual goal-oriented program planning, and acts as an advocate in the community through the removal of attitudinal, architectural, environmental, financial, employment-related, communicational, transportation, and other barriers.Department: AdministrationJob Title: Chief Program Officer (CPO)Reports to: Chief Executive Officer (CPO)Starting Salary Range: $95,000.00 to $105,000.00Type of Position: Full-Time, Exempt Position Summary:The Chief Program Officer (CPO) will have overall strategic and operational responsibility for the organization's programmatic departments: Residential, Day, and Community. Reporting to the CEO, and working in coordination with members of Senior Leadership, the CPO will oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of all programs to ensure they align with the organization's mission and effectively meet the needs of the individuals we serve. As a leader and mentor, the CPO will motivate and empower program staff to achieve excellence in service delivery.Duties and Responsibilities (not all inclusive):Collaborate with the CEO and Senior Leadership to develop, implement, and evaluate the organization's strategic plan, ensuring that programmatic initiatives align with the organization's goals.Develop and implement program strategies that align with the organization's mission, goals, and strategic plan.Oversee the daily operations of all program divisions, ensuring programs are executed effectively and efficiently, with a focus on achieving impactful outcomes.Create, through contact and cooperation with individuals served, impactful programs and opportunities for all individuals within the organization. Ensure that all programs comply with regulatory, ethical, and legal requirements. Utilize data and feedback from stakeholders to monitor program outcomes, assess effectiveness, and make necessary adjustments for continuous improvement.Monitor adherence to best practices and quality standards within each department.Work with the CEO, COO, Program Executive Directors, and finance team to develop and manage program budgets. Ensure financial sustainability and alignment with organizational priorities.Identify, recruit, train, and mentor a talented program team. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that encourages professional growth and development.Engage with program partners to ensure all administrative and programmatic requirements are being met by all program divisions. Build and maintain relationships with community partners, stakeholders, and funding sources to enhance program visibility and secure necessary resources.Provide regular updates to the CEO and Board of Directors on program performance, challenges, and opportunities for growth.Represent the organization at public events and with stakeholders, advocating for policies and initiatives that support the mission and enhance service delivery.This is a position that will remain open until filled. RequirementsEducation and/or Experience:Bachelor's degree in a relevant field required (e.g., Social Work, Public Administration, Human Services, Business Administration). A Master's degree is preferred.At least three to five years of experience in program management and/or leadership roles, preferably within the nonprofit sector.Demonstrated experience in working with diverse populations; experience with individuals with disabilities is preferred.Experience in working with nonprofits, public relations, state entities, and accrediting agencies including Joint Commission, CARF, DHSS, and DMH is preferred.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. Strong knowledge of best practices in program development, evaluation, and quality assurance.Read, analyze, and interpret data and governmental regulations. Write reports and recommend corrective action related to potential risks. Handle private, sensitive, confidential information appropriately. Proven track record of successful team management and staff development.Proficiency with computer, data entry and MS Office skills, along with the use of data-based computer applications. Physical Demands:Stand and/or sit for prolonged periods.
