Position Summary:
The Digital Media Intern is responsible for building and maintaining the Fireflies branding through the use of social channels and creative works including creating graphics, videos for in-park and social or web use and applications for web. This member of the staff will assist members of the marketing team in launching and executing initiatives for video, social, graphics and media relations throughout the season. This staff member will also be a key part in community events to insure that the Fireflies branding is seen and embraced throughout the Midlands
Digital Media Intern
will report to directly to, and work closely with, the Director of Marketing.
Key Responsibilities/Non-Game Day Duties:
Be an active member of Marketing meetings and participate in brainstorm meetings regarding the promotion of all Fireflies games and events Work closely with the Director of Marketing to assist with the management of current Fireflies social media accounts, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram & TikTok Work closely in conjunction with the Director of Marketing and the Broadcast/Media Relations Manager to ensure timely and appropriate releases of all Fireflies' media releases/news stories Work with team Department Heads to create social media campaigns for projects related to their departments Work closely with Director of Marketing to track, interpret and leverage analytics to guide strategic marketing decisions Promotional social media campaigns and content for theme nights and other Promotional events Work closely with Community Engagement Manager to promote community events and appearances Work closely with the Director of Marketing & the Corporate Sales team to brainstorm and create engaging content for corporate partners Work closely with the Director of Marketing to manager & utilize the FanCompass platform and all Fireflies Enter-To-Win Contests Required to participate in stadium pre-season preparation/cleanup which may include weekends Help produce content for the ballpark video board (50' x 25') and online media (ColumbiaFireflies.com and YouTube) Work closely with Video Production Manager and Promotions Manager to produce themed videoboard and social media content Produce videos as requested by marketing, sales teams, corporate partnerships, etc. Produce weekly homestand highlights videos Maintain Click Effects Audio library Responsible for uploading any updating player walk up music Work closely with Promotions Manager to ensure the upload of themed music Help with maintenance/upkeep of all video production equipment Other duties as assigned
Gameday Duties:
Manage all social media channels during Fireflies home games, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram & TikTok Required to participate in stadium pre-game preparation and assist other departments with pre-game preparation as needed Required to assist in putting the tarp on the field and taking it off (this will happen during the day, at night or early morning depending on the situation) Record video content & take photos during games for promotional use, including fan content, on-field promotions, baseball highlights, fireworks, etc. Work closely with Ticketing & Corporate sales to get in-game video/photo content needed for clients and partners Produce content, including features and post-game highlights Run Click Effects in-game when needed Required to participate in stadium pre-game preparation and assist other departments with pre-game preparation as needed Required to assist in putting the tarp on the field and taking it off (this will happen during the day, at night or early morning depending on the situation) Assist with MiLB.tv game broadcast Assist with managing production staff Assist with production of group signage and game day graphic production Assist with the creation of Game Notes and other Game Day Media Materials *All staff members and interns are to lead by example and set a high standard for game day employees (i.e. wearing proper work attire, great customer service, no foul language, etc.)*
Requirements
Prior experience running a business, brand or team social media account Adobe Creative Suites: Photoshop, Premiere, InDesign, After Effects Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point) Panasonic AG-HPX370 (Camera Model used for Project Footage and wireless Broadcast Camera) Ikegami HC-HD300 (Camera Model used for Game Broadcasts) Other Studio Equipment (i.e. Blue Screen, Lights, microphones) General knowledge of baseball Positive Attitude Ability to work in team setting or individually (both will occur) Good Organization
