Job Summary:
The
Credit Valuation Adjustment (CVA) Middle Office Analyst
is responsible for supporting the CVA team in assessing and managing the counterparty credit risk associated with the trading of derivatives and other financial instruments. The role includes calculating and reporting CVA exposures, collaborating with front office traders to ensure accurate trade execution, reconciling positions with operations teams, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities: Assist in the daily calculation and monitoring of CVA, DVA (Debt Valuation Adjustment), and other counterparty credit metrics across trading portfolios. Work with traders and risk managers to identify, assess, and quantify counterparty risk exposures in line with market movements and trade activity. Ensure that trades involving counterparty risk (e.g., derivatives, swaps, credit default swaps) are captured and correctly booked into internal systems. Work with front office traders to resolve any discrepancies in trade details, such as trade terms, pricing, and risk exposure. Reconcile positions between the front office, risk management, and back office to ensure accuracy and consistency. Coordinate with the operations and collateral management teams to ensure proper collateralization of counterparty exposures. Monitor the movement of collateral (e.g., margin calls, variation margin) to mitigate potential CVA risk. Generate daily, weekly, and monthly reports on CVA metrics, counterparty exposures, and risk limits for senior risk management and trading desks. Ensure all CVA-related calculations and risk assessments are compliant with regulatory standards and internal risk management policies. Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of derivatives products (e.g., interest rate swaps, credit default swaps, options, etc.). Familiarity with financial risk management systems (e.g., Murex, Calypso, Summit) and risk modeling tools. Understanding of CVA calculation methodologies, counterparty credit risk, and collateral management practices. #INDSTRG
