Mainframe Security Analyst
Location: San Francisco, CA 94103 (Hybrid - 3 days onsite, 2 days remote)

Candidate Preference: Candidates located within 50-60 miles of San Francisco, CA

Work Arrangement: Hybrid (3 days in the office, 2 days remote)

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Mainframe Security Analyst to protect our critical mainframe systems and data. You will be responsible for conducting risk assessments, implementing security measures, and ensuring compliance with industry best practices. Your deep expertise in mainframe security, particularly RACF, will be vital in safeguarding our organization's sensitive information.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive security risk assessments of mainframe systems.
  • Identify and remediate vulnerabilities in mainframe environments.
  • Implement and maintain security controls using RACF.
  • Utilize native z/OS and RACF tools to monitor and protect mainframe systems.
  • Issue RACF commands and perform diagnostics as needed.
  • Collaborate with other security teams to ensure a holistic approach to security.
  • Stay abreast of the latest mainframe security threats and vulnerabilities.
Must-Have Skills:
  • 5+ years of Information Security Engineering experience or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of mainframe security risk assessment and remediation experience.
  • 5+ years of hands-on RACF experience (at least with the current and supported version, z/OS 2.1 or above).
  • 5+ years of mainframe security experience using native z/OS and RACF tools.
  • Ability to issue RACF commands and perform diagnostics.
Desired Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of JCL (Job Control Language) experience.
  • 5+ years of TSO (Time Sharing Options) experience.
  • Familiarity with REXX and CARLa.
  • Experience with zSecure tool.
  • Advanced Information Security technical skills and understanding of information security practices and policies.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage complex issues.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
