Ford and SK On are investing billions in Kentucky and Tennessee, including building three state-of-the-art battery manufacturing facilities between the two companies at BlueOval City in Tennessee and BlueOval SK Battery Park in Kentucky. These brand-new advanced manufacturing facilities will use Ford’s 100 years of automobile manufacturing expertise and SK On’s 30+ years of electric vehicle battery expertise to become the world’s best battery manufacturer.
About the Opportunity
The Inventory Control Clerk at BlueOval SK will have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be a key member of the start-up team, launching the facility from the ground up. As an Inventory Control Clerk, you will have the opportunity to grow professionally throughout the organization, learning many skills across several operations as you progress within the company. Inventory Control Clerk work within the Material Planning and Logistics area of the plant and are afforded the opportunity to learn cross-functionality as they master each area of the distribution process.
Wages Include:
$21 hour starting wage
Two scheduled increases in hourly wage rate each year of continuous employment.
Regular Performance Bonus Payments

Key Areas of Responsibility:
The Inventory Control Clerk is responsible for ensuring order production and distribution of products by safely pulling orders from manual racking and ASRS (automatic storage and retrieval system) locations.
Organize new parts into commonality codes.
Cycle all parts/commonality codes in the plant with requested frequency
Cycle all Bulk Material
Cycle Balance-Out Parts for all areas in order to provide accurate inventories for remaining builds.
Complete last cycle for dis-continued parts.
Complete Cycle Summary Sheet indicating Variances from the same family of parts in order to better understand the relationships between Gross Variances.
Contributes to the orderly operation of stock and/or materials storage area through the use of First-in First-out (FIFO) methodologies
Maintains inventory by identifying, labeling, and keeping materials and supplies in stock, recording location of inventory, and reporting shortages/overages
Maintains material-handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections, making operator repairs, and ensuring proper charging cadence is followed for all electric equipment
Operates forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery to move materials onto and off trucks, racking, and loading docks
Learns and adheres to workplace safety regulations
Effectively navigate multiple computer-based operating systems (e.g. ASRS Interface, WMS, SAP, etc.)
Work Environment and Essential Functions
BlueOval SK facilities are some of the most advanced manufacturing environments in the industry. Our typical working environment is climate-controlled year-found to facilitate successful production and keep our team members comfortable while at work.
Physical demands include:
Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods of time, up to 12+ hours a day
Frequently and repetitively lift, push, and carry up to 50 lbs.
Push & pull heavy weighted objects with motorized assistance
Ability to stand and walk for up to 12+ hours/day, including over varied and uneven terrain
Stoop, lay, bend, reach, squat, kneel, crouch, twist and crawl for extended periods of time, including up to 12+ hours/day
Climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding or other high structures
Ability to find issues in a work process and receive safety signals using sight, touch, and hearing
Wearing Personal Protective Equipment and operating in a sterile environment including but not limited to: safety glasses, safety shoes, safety suits, bump caps, hearing protection, full-face respirators, gloves, and adhering to prescribed safety rules and guidelines
Ability to work in a team-oriented production or manufacturing environment, including exhibiting strong interpersonal and communication skills with your teammates.
Ability and willingness to maintain a safe and collaborative work environment
Ability to work quickly while maintaining a high level of craftsmanship and attention to detail
Minimum Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED (General Education Development)
Must be at least 18 years of age
Valid driver’s license and safe driving record
Comfortable learning new technology
Preferred Experience
1 year of experience in a material handling position within a manufacturing environment
Previous stock or inventory experience a plus
Prior knowledge and experience utilizing Powered Material Handling Equipment (i.e. forklifts and electric pallet jacks), is a plus
Prior knowledge and experience with cycle counting or inventory investigation is a plus
Experience working with ASRS interfaces is a plus
