TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Med/Surg RN in Montgomery, Alabama, 36116 About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Staff Float Pool MedSurg Job Duration: 12 months Shift: 7:00 AM 12 hr Days - 36/48 Guaranteed Hours: 36/48 Experience: Minimum of 18 months in MedSurg Certifications: BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - At least 1 year of trauma/surgical experience - Skills in wound care, chest tubes, NGT, IV administration - Chemo administration certification preferred Job Description: - Work in a facility with 492 beds and a range of specialized units. - Provide care in a variety of units, with specific focus areas including Trauma Surgical, Neuroscience, MedSurg/Oncology, Clinical Decision, Orthopedics, and more. - Manage patient ratios generally between 1:5-6, depending on the unit. - Experience with patient types ranging from general surgical, vascular, CVA, TBI, and more. - Proficient in skills such as wound care, chest tubes, IV start, PEG, trach care, and more. - Telemetry is monitored by techs; RNs are required to interpret and confirm readings every four hours. - Support includes CNA, receptionist, phlebotomy, IV/VAT team, and hospitalist assistance. - The facility uses Cerner EMR, Plum 360 IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Spacelabs monitors. - Floats to similar units or patient locations. - Comprehensive orientation provided, with up to 48 hours of training, split between classroom and on-unit. - Requires weekend rotation every other weekend or four weekend days per month. - Holiday expectations include working one major and one minor seasonal holiday per policy. - Scheduling follows a 4-week cycle; no self-scheduling – smart square utilized. - Scrub color is any color.
