TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Med/Surg RN in Montgomery, Alabama, 36116 About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Staff Float Pool MedSurg Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 7:00 am 12 hr Days - 36/48 Guaranteed Hours: 36/48 Experience: Minimum 18 months experience in MedSurg License: Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: At least 1 year of trauma/surgical experience Job Description: - Work in a Level II Trauma Center and Level III NICU - Handle a variety of patient types including general surgery, vascular surgeries, CVA, TBI, seizure, AMS, spinal fusion, craniotomy, degenerative diseases, post trauma, and angiogram - Maintain patient ratios of 1:5-6 - Perform skills such as wound care, chest tubes, NGT, IV skills, medication administration/documentation and escalations - Provide trach care, PEG, colostomy/ostomy, wound care, chest tube, surgical site care, C-collar, abdominal binders, and restraints - Chemo experience highly preferred for assignments in MedSurg/Oncology - Manage a variety of medical conditions including COPD, CHF, diabetes, MRSA, VRE, C-Diff, COVID, pneumonia, renal failure, sepsis, UTI, and end-of-life comfort - Utilize PCA pumps, manage dressing changes, foley care, and drains (hemovacs/JP drains) - Offer full support on the unit with access to CNAs, receptionists, charge nurses, phlebotomy, and an IV/VAT team - Utilize technology and equipment including Cerner EMR, Plum 360 IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Spacelabs monitors - Expected to float between like units/patient locations - Required to interpret and confirm telemetry readings every 4 hours - Participate in a 24-hour classroom and 24-hour unit orientation for new facility travelers - Schedule includes rotation every other weekend or 4 weekend days per month with holiday expectations of one major and one minor seasonal holiday per policy Note: Scrubs in any color are permitted. 26232790EXPTEMP Job Requirements Required for Onboarding ACLS - AHA BLS - AHA Core Competency Pharmacology Skills Checklist Specialty Exam 5 Benefits of Travel Nursing A diverse range of assignments on your resume showcases your adaptability, versatility, and resilience.
