The Opportunity:

We are seeking a seasoned and results-oriented Consumer Sales Director for our Retail Channel, to lead and elevate our presence in major retail channels. Reporting directly to the VP of Sales, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategic initiatives to drive significant and sustainable sales growth across our retail partnerships.

Location - The person must be located either in Arizona preferably near Tempe or Plano Texas. This role can't be located out of those cities. The role can't be remote. We are open to talking to candidates who will relocate to Tempe or Plano.

What you will do in the role:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy for major retailers like Walmart, Target, Best Buy, and Amazon, ensuring alignment with the company's overall sales objectives.
  • Lead, coach, and mentor a high-performing team of Business Development Sales Managers, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and exceeding goals.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers at major retail partners, including buyers, category managers, and store level personnel.
  • Navigate complex retail landscapes, understanding and adhering to specific retailer requirements, promotional calendars, and merchandising best practices.
  • Develop and implement data-driven strategies to optimize product placement, pricing, and promotions within retail environments.
  • Analyze retail sales data and trends to identify opportunities for growth, refine strategies, and maximize profitability.
  • Collaborate with marketing, product development, and logistics teams to ensure seamless product launches, effective marketing campaigns, and efficient product fulfillment within retail channels.
  • Stay informed of evolving retail trends and consumer preferences, proactively identifying and capitalizing on emerging opportunities.
  • Present and negotiate compelling sales proposals to secure new retail partnerships and advantageous terms with existing partners.

What you need to be successful in the role:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred).
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in retail sales management, with a proven track record of exceeding sales goals and building successful relationships with major retail partners.
  • Deep understanding of the retail landscape, including key players, dynamics, and best practices in merchandising, promotions, and vendor negotiations.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic sales plans that drive significant and sustainable revenue growth.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence key decision-makers.
  • Strong analytical, strategy development, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to leverage data to optimize sales strategies and make informed decisions.
  • Proactive, results-oriented, and self-motivated with a strong work ethic and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Travel required.
