TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified PICU RN in Fort Wayne, Indiana, 46845 About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse - Pediatrics/Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Profession: RN Specialty: Pediatrics/PICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day (7 am - 7:30 pm) Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years in Pediatrics AND PICU; experience in a 400 bed facility with Level 2 trauma License: Compact or state RN license Certifications: BLS (AHA), PALS (AHA) Must-Have: EPIC experience, strong pediatric knowledge base, IV skills are a plus Description: General job duties include caring for pediatric patients aged 3 days to 18 years. This involves managing common childhood illnesses, including COVID-positive patients. Specialized care responsibilities include managing respiratory issues, traumas, donations, seizures, and poisonings in the PICU. More complex cases get sent out for specialized treatment. Equipment utilized includes EPIC for electronic charting and Pyxis for medication management. The role requires floating to NICU as needed. The pediatric unit has 28 beds with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4, while the PICU has 7 beds with a ratio of 1:2. The dress code is Caribbean blue scrubs.
