About the role: Strategic planning and business development involve crafting and executing partnership strategies that align with a company's goals and market potential, including identifying new business opportunities and evaluating industry trends for nuclear energy projects. Effective partnership relationship management requires cultivating strong connections with key stakeholders, such as technology companies and industrial customers, while addressing their energy needs and ensuring high customer satisfaction. In partnership development, it is crucial to build strategic alliances that enhance business growth and adapt to market trends, leveraging insights from market analysis to align with evolving regulatory requirements and technological advancements. This role reports into the Chief Development Officer. Responsibilities: Strategic Planning and Business Development Develop and implement the partnership strategy in alignment with the company's overall objectives and market opportunities. Identify and evaluate new business opportunities, market segments, and revenue streams for nuclear energy projects. Track industry solicitations that align with our business strategy and capabilities. Support negotiations with in-house counsel and CFO group to secure agreements for the purchase of nuclear energy, power purchase agreements (PPAs), and other commercial arrangements. Develop contractual terms and agreements that meet the needs of both the company and its customers, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards. Partnership Relationship Management Cultivate and maintain relationships with offtakers, including technology companies like Google, Meta, and others in high power computing, AI, and data centers. Cultivate relationships with Utility partners and engage on resource needs and economic assumptions that support a full commitment to a consortium partner. Engage with industrial customers in sectors such as green steel, manufacturing, green hydrogen, and others to understand their energy needs and develop tailored solutions. Act as the primary point of contact for offtakers and industrial customers, utilities, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction. Partnership Development Identify potential partners, collaborators, and stakeholders in target industries to expand the reach and impact of nuclear energy projects. Develop strategic partnerships and alliances that enhance the value proposition of our offerings and drive business growth. Market Analysis and Forecasting Conduct market analysis and forecasting to identify trends, opportunities, and threats in target industries and geographic markets. Utilize market insights to inform commercial strategy and decision-making. Future Partnership Development Work closely with internal teams to develop and refine future partnerships that meet the needs of offtakers and industrial customers and align with the market enablers and constraints. Ensure that offerings are aligned with market demand, regulatory requirements, and technological advancements. Experience Proven track record in revenue and profit growth. Collaborative problem solving. 10+ years’ experience in negotiating contracts for regulated and non-regulated power markets. Relationships with decision makers inside of utilities, hyperscales, and private equity. College degree or advanced degrees preferred. Estimated Starting Salary Range: The estimated starting salary range is $242,000 - $274,000 annually less applicable withholdings and deductions, paid on a semi-monthly basis. The actual salary offered may vary based on relevant factors as determined in the Company’s discretion, which may include experience, qualifications, tenure, skill set, availability of qualified candidates, geographic location, certifications held, and other criteria deemed pertinent to the particular role.
