MHS is currently seeking full-time Maintenance Technicians II – HVACR/Plumber to join the team. This position’s primary focus will be providing heating and cooling service, repairs, and maintenance for various residential and commercial facilities.
Additionally, this position requires proficiency and diagnostic abilities in all mechanical trade disciplines including, but not limited to plumbing, residential & commercial appliance repairs and minor electrical repairs. The incumbent is required to demonstrate journeyman level skill through successful completion of a written and practical exercise.
All work is to be performed in accordance with all state, local and federal codes, and regulations, and may require licensing. Work assignments will be based on the overall skills of the Technician; however, this position is required to support any of the mechanical trade disciplines. Some of the required skills and abilities are:
Demonstrated knowledge in the installation, repair and maintenance HVAC/R, plumbing, and electrical systems.
Demonstrated troubleshooting ability with respect to electronic controls (prior experience with a Building Automation system is a plus).
Demonstrated ability to utilize hand tools, power tools and analytic tools (all tools are provided by MHS).
Physical ability to perform all aspects of the job, including the ability to lift 50 pounds.
Ability to utilize electronic devices (i.e. tablet) and software for work order management and communication.
Ability to work independently and as a team.
The work schedule is year-round, full-time, flex schedule with forty (40) hours per week with a minimum of two (2) consecutive non-workdays. A flex shift employee works a combination of the shift times listed below to be scheduled as determined by the needs of the school. Standard hours of operation may change due to seasonal or programmatic changes.
7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
3:00 p.m. – 11:30 p.m.
11:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.
Monday – Friday – 11:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m. – 8-hour shift (Current Need)
Bargaining unit position with OPS-464. In addition to a competitive salary ($32.49 an hour plus 10% shift differential) our full-time employees receive generous health and insurance benefits (medical, dental, vision, life insurance, etc.). Vacation and Paid Time Off, a company truck (utilized when on campus only), all tools as required (campus use only) and no on-call responsibility.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
Minimum of 3 years' experience working in commercial and residential settings in conjunction with post-high school technical training in relevant fields such as Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning & Refrigeration Plumbing and Appliances.
Or, six (6) years of relevant current work experience in an institutional and residential application.
EPA Level 2 Refrigeration Certification minimum, Universal Certification a plus
Valid PA Driver’s License in good standing. CDL license a plus.
OSHA 10-Hour Training.
OSHA 30-Hour Training a plus.
MEWP (Mobile Elevated Working Platform) Certification a plus.
Backflow Prevention Device Tester Certification a plus.
Demonstrated high degree of integrity, as all MHS Staff are role models for MHS Students.
