The Mechanical Design Engineer is responsible for developing and designing electronic enclosures for use with aero gas turbine engines. In this role, the Design Engineer ensures the enclosures definition meets the project requirements from concept through to qualification test. You will be responsible for supporting local and global engine programs.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with electronics engineering to develop enclosures that jointly meet electronic and mechanical requirements and guidelines.
Support the creation of detailed drawings and model-based definitions and assist project/manufacturing teams in procuring conforming hardware.
Orchestrate Technical Review/Design Review and communicate solutions with the project/customer: develop technical presentations and associated technical reports in the delivery of solutions.
Perform component trade studies for new and existing hardware, create and review functional and physical interfaces, and generate analysis requirements for enclosures.
Assure compliance with applicable product certification requirements (e.g., DO-160, MIL-STD-810).
Essential Skills
Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
4+ years of Mechanical Engineering experience within a relevant industry or product.
Experience in electronic enclosures design.
Proficiency in 3D Modeling; Siemens NX preferred, but Solidworks/CATIA/Etc. considered.
Knowledge of design processes and component testing.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in Aerospace.
Knowledge of gas turbine control systems.
Work Environment
This is an onsite position with the expectation of working five days a week in the office.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00
