Who We Need Sabel Systems is seeking a remote Model Based Systems Engineer (MBSE) who is an expert with MBSE tools, such as Cameo and Sparx. The Model Based Systems Engineer will provide assessments of data models and recommend modifications to those data models which will enable SysML and/or UAF outputs for systems engineering analysis. Additionally, the Model Based Systems Engineer will contribute to building a prototype of a software pipeline to support SysML and/or UAF outputs. The Model Based Systems Engineer will be working remotely on a cross-functional Sabel Agile team comprised of Scrum Masters, Jira/Confluence Subject Matter Experts, a Senior Model Based Systems Engineer, Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning Engineer, Data Scientist/Engineer, Full Stack Developer and a Front End Developer. The Model Based Systems Engineer must be able to work independently as well as brainstorm innovative solutions with teammates via MS Teams calls, chat and email. The ideal candidate will be motivated to learn and continuously improve and grow as a team. Company-paid travel to customer site in Los Angeles to provide product demonstrations may be required on occasion - no more than 10% travel per year. The Model Based Systems Engineer shall assess the existing customer's data model, determining necessary modifications for implementing a SysML and/or UAF model in compliance with industry standards, to include MBSE Style Guides, for system engineering analysis The Model Based Systems Engineer shall develop a prototype of the software pipeline to support data model's SysML and/or UAF output Utilizing Cameo, propose and develop behavioral and/or structural diagrams to support Business Process Model Notation (BPMN) workflows, mission threads and program data in accordance with SysML and/or UAF standard Lead QA and refinement of SysML and/or UAF outputs to ensure models are fit for purpose and compliant with data model or other identified SysML or UAF style guides Provide remote and/or in-person product demonstrations, as required Collaborate directly with internal teammates or customer over MS Teams calls, chat or email to understand their modeling requirements Coordinate appropriate meeting times with teammates and/or customer, send a MS Teams invite, and join calls on-time, scheduling and attending follow-up meetings as needed Maintain professional communications and appearance with customers and team members, responding to emails and participating in MS Teams calls appropriately Attend daily stand-ups (DSUs), Sprint Reviews, Retrospectives, and any other team meetings on time Manage individual daily work tasks within a Jira board Other duties as assigned Your Qualifications Required US Citizen Strong spoken and written English skills Bachelor's degree in engineering (aerospace, mechanical, electrical, systems, or equivalent) 7 years of Systems Engineering experience 3 years of MBSE experience Proficient using Systems Modeling Language (SysML) and Unified Architecture Framework (UAF) Expert with modeling tools, specifically Cameo Enterprise Architecture and Sparx Enterprise Architect Proficient MS Office 365 User Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders Ability to telework with clear phone and internet connectivity Ability to obtain minimum of Secret level security clearance, will upgrade to TS Ability to travel up to 10% of the time Preferred Experience in highly-regulated industries, such as DoD, aviation, pharmaceuticals, or nuclear Experience with Agile methodology, Scrum and Kanban Experience tracking individual work tasks in Jira
