Director of Copy:
Trade School is looking for a Copy Director to join our Digital Creative Studio. The Digital Creative Studio is a specialized team within Trade School's creative department, focused on the agency's content-at-scale practice. The Copy Director is an important leader within the agency and creative department who will drive impactful projects, coach creatives, cultivate client relationships and elevate craft while working in partnership with our Design Director. The Copy Director is both a creative problem solver and strategic creative who keenly understands how to leverage content strategies to drive business. A natural collaborator, internally and externally, delivering great work for the agency and our clients. They will lead by example, helping teams do their best work by digging in and showing them how it's done.

While Trade School is a remote-friendly workplace, this Director of Copy position requires a hybrid work schedule, including occasional in-person internal and client meetings and possible work travel.

Experience Plusses:
- Proven experience managing both B2B and B2C copy practices within an agency, editorial house, or brand
- Passion for creating innovative, platform-targeted ideas that live natively in the places people spend their digital lives
- Experience working at a modern agency that embraces digital and content creative ideas, a platform like Meta or Pinterest, or in-house brand team leveraging opportunities in content and digital spaces
- Strong understanding of creative and strategic distinctions in writing for different brand and micro-brand segmentations and across various platforms (Meta vs. Pinterest vs. OLA)
- In-depth knowledge of the structure of a brand's identity-specifically the brand voice-and how to adapt it across platforms, audiences, messages, and purposes
- Experience leading creative teams on fast-paced, iterative projects
- Skilled at collaborating with clients and internal teams to ensure consistency and quality across business groups
- Experience with dynamic content engines, adtech platforms, interactive design, and collaboration tools like Figma
- Consistently delivers highly-crafted, high-quality work
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead multiple campaigns and digital activations across platforms and experiences for a variety of brand and micro-brand segmentations
- Craft compelling copy with a strong focus on quality and detail
- Solve clients' business challenges with powerful, innovative ideas
- Serve as both a leader and a hands-on creator, guiding creative ideas from inception to production
- Mentor junior creatives to strengthen their skills and develop their craft
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions optimized for multi-audience, multi-media campaigns across mediums and platforms
- Partner with production, creator, and maker teams to bring creative work to life throughout the production process
- Maintain a passion for the content and digital space, with enthusiasm for emerging platforms, technology, and innovation
- Demonstrate a drive for experimentation, ideation, and hands-on creation
- Develop a deep understanding of unique creative opportunities across various platforms (e.g., Meta, Pinterest, OLA) and their strategic differences
- Grasp a brand's business objectives and purpose, delivering highly creative work that aligns with brand values
- Collaborate actively with the larger team, owning project success and excellence
- Excel in powerful presentations and clear, impactful communication
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Portfolio or creative samples demonstrating expertise in interactive digital content at scale
- 8-10 years of writing experience in client-side, in-house, agency, or similar creative environments
- Exceptional writing and verbal skills
- Strong team collaboration skills
- Knowledge of creative platforms like Adobe Suite, Figma, and ad platforms is a plus
- Ability to manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable with and receptive to feedback; able to quickly address feedback effectively
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Self-motivated with a strong sense of accountability
