We are Data Spectrum, (a subsidiary of Motivo Engineering) a product development firm proud of its innovative and reliable engineering solutions. We are an engineering resource, supporting our clients’ product development. We are looking to hire a Buyer/Planner to join our small, tightly-knit engineering team. This role is crucial for Data Spectrum as it ensures the timely procurement of materials and resources, enabling the technical team to deliver solutions efficiently. By collaborating closely with the team, the Buyer/Planner helps streamline operations, aligning purchasing with project timelines and client needs.
Base Rate Range: $28/hr - $35/hr
Annual Profit Sharing Estimate: $2,912 - $6,825
Salary is dependent on experience, knowledge, and interview performance.
Responsibilities
Purchasing aerospace electronics parts.
Create bid-to-buy orders and price negotiation.
Research, select, and purchase quality products and materials.
Purchase orders and request for quotes (RFQ).
In-depth and intricate negotiation of various pricing on commodities assigned, deliveries, and lead times.
Review, analyze, process and expedite MRP (Material Requisition Planning) daily.
Developing, updating, and maintaining defined inventory levels for purchased finished goods and assigned commodities.
Monitor supplier performance for quality, accuracy, and timeliness.
Manage lead time by getting supplier updates quarterly or as defined by management.
Implement newly sourced products and new suppliers to the portfolio.
Act as a liaison between the suppliers and internal departments for all purchasing duties.
Develop and support continuous improvement efforts within the department.
Lead, present and influence department, company, buyer, and supplier meetings.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent Required.
Minimum 3 years of Aerospace electronics/power supply buying experience.
3 years of proposal development and implementation.
3-5 years' experience in sales contract negotiation.
Excel and MS Office applications.
Aerospace supplier and vendor knowledge.
ERP systems experience and other supply chain management tools, preferably Netsuite.
Ability to build a supply chain/ procurement channel.
Progressive to advanced inventory control knowledge.
Ability to read blue-prints, or other experience that demonstrates the ability to purchase complex parts and products.
Experience with Government/DOD related sub-contracts and extensive supplier oversight to include DCMA delegation coordination and tracking.
