Advanced Practice Clinician (NP or PA) Residency

Codman Square is hiring early career Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants! Our Residency application cycle is open; applications are due February 3rd, 2024. This program is how Codman onboards early career clinicians in order to ensure their success. The Residency program offers intentional onboarding, dedicated preceptors, gradual ramp up toward productivity, didactics in collaboration with UMASS Worcester, formal evaluations, robust mentorship, and most important leadership invested in your success. Our graduates are high performing, empowered, and culturally competent clinicians with robust practices and who practice to the top of their licensure. Graduates are a valued and respected member of the clinical team!
Codman Square Health Center serves as a resource for improving the physical, mental, and social well-being of the community. Codman is known for excellent care as well as excellent teaching. Building on this foundation, Codman launched an Advanced Practice Clinician Residency in 2020. The residency earned Accredited status in 2024, demonstrating the high quality of the program. Our graduates complete the program as primary care providers with robust practices. They are confident and have the skills to thrive in community health. Thank you for your interest in our residency!
PROGRAM DETAILS:
* 12-month full-time residency year, starting in late September or early October. Every patient a resident learner sees for one full year is precepted by an attending provider. Learning is maximized through an extensive orientation, mentorship, routine feedback, a Quality Improvement Project, and didactics in collaboration with UMass Worcester.
* Applicants commit to a second year of full-time employment at Codman Square Health Center, during which they solidify skills in a supportive environment.
* Residents are full time, benefited, and salaried employees.
* For the upcoming academic year, we are opening our program to Adult/Gero NPs as well as Physician Assistants. At Codman, Advanced Practice Clinicians are one team. We have PA's who precept and support the residency. Thank you for understanding that it takes time to update language and details.
APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS:
* Applicants must agree to two years of full-time employment as described above.
* Applicants must be Family or Adult/Gero Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants.
* Applicants must be a citizen of the US or a foreign national with a visa permitting permanent residency in the US, or a non-citizen national. Individuals on temporary or student visas are not eligible.
* Applicants must graduate on or before May 2024, including all clinical hours requirements.
* Applicants are required to sit for their boards as soon as possible. This is usually in April prior to graduation (if accepted, the Residency Director will work with you on this).
* Accepted residents are required to be completely credentialed and privileged prior to starting clinical sessions. Codman requires a 24-hour turnaround time on all requests related to credentialing.
* Applicants must agree to all future HRSA grant requirements, such as the collection of demographic information.
