Position Summary
The CVICU APP functions collaboratively with the supervising intensivist to coordinate the patient care needs of the high-risk cardiovascular population at Children's Minnesota. Will provide a safe, accessible and responsive service to our patient population. The APP collaboratively manages the critically ill child's cares using expertise and evaluative tools to address the overall medical management of the child. It would be expected for the APP to practice as part of the CV model of care which is a team concept including CV surgeons, cardiologists, and intensivists. During work hours the APP will collaborate and report to the attending CV intensivist. The cardiac APP team will provide on-site coverage days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays. This role provides 24/7/365 on-site service.
Education: APRN: Graduate of an accredited Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Program. Master's Degree required; Doctorate preferred. Physician Assistant: Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistants program. Master's degree required; Doctorate preferred
License / Certification: APRN: Current MN RN/APRN License. Nationally Board Certified as an Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner with either the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board (PNCB) or American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Current BLS and PALS certification. Physician Assistant: MN Physician Assistant License. National Certification required by NCCPA. Current BLS and PALS certification.
Experience:
Minimum 2 years clinical experience. Pediatric CVICU experience preferred.
The posted pay range represents rates for a grouping of multiple jobs within a salary grade. We carefully consider a wide range of factors including but not limited to market indicators for the specific role, the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate, and organizational needs.
