Actalent is hiring a DoD software engineer for a defense company located in Rochester, NY. Position offers full time benefits, paid vacation, paid holidays, and OT Pay. This a hybrid work environment, need to be able to work onsite, with ability to work remote. Flexible work schedule is offered, 4/10s or 9/80.
Description:
The Tactical Communications SW engineering group is looking to expand its team of networking SW engineers to work on a collection of modern tactical military radios for DoD and Allied market space.
These radios can be either single or multi-channel and support multiple modern mobile ad-hoc networking waveforms.
We are in need of an embedded SW engineer who can support the networking subsystem to include implementing network protocols, analyzing defects using network monitoring tools, and supporting test organizations in configuring test scenarios.
Essential Functions:
Member of an Agile Scrum team that develops SW for advanced tactical radio equipment
Responsible for research, design, and development of embedded software for software defined radio products.
Develops and conducts software system testing procedures, programming, and documentation.
Provides technical support to internal and external customers.
Executes software development process in a CMMI Level 3 environment.
Must be able to obtain a US security clearance, active clearance not needed
Skills & Qualifications:
Engineering Degree
C/C++ Software Development / OOD
Agile, debugging software, software testing
Linux experience (preferred)
One of the following; networking protocols or audio experience
For networking protocols, we use RIP, OSPF, PIM – dense & PIM Bi-Directional mode.
Other protocols used also include STP (Spanning Tree) and GRE.
Familiarity with Multicast is a must
Highly desirable is also knowledge on VPN networks and IPSEC security
Must be able to obtain a US security clearance, active clearance not needed for position
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $80.00
