Job Description

As an

Ignition Developer

you will manage and support projects focused on developing and improving MES applications and hardware across our Fiberon brand facilities. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve daily MES issues, design and implement solutions, and maintain existing systems to support our continuous improvement culture.

Leveraging your technical understanding of computer programming and application development, you’ll work on integrating MES with other data systems to enhance decision-making, develop reports, and partner with engineers on data acquisition. With strong written and oral communication skills, you’ll effectively engage stakeholders, adhere to project timelines, and support continuous improvement initiatives. Additionally, you’ll review and optimize software code, deploy new systems, and provide technical assistance to ensure smooth operations.

The

ideal candidate

has an associate or bachelor’s degree in computer science or software engineering, OR 3-5 years of demonstrated experience in software development focused on front-end application design for manufacturing execution systems. You will be proficient in Ignition, Python, Microsoft SQL databases, HTML, Java, and Expression languages.

This role is

eligible

for a hybrid schedule, reporting into the New London, NC office Tuesday-Thursday with the option to work remote on Monday & Friday.

What you will be doing:

Manage the day-to-day related MES issues and delegate to other team members, as necessary

Utilize Ignition software for front end application design and development for MES

Define, design, and lead software implementations throughout the manufacturing operations

Support, troubleshoot, and maintain current applications and hardware

Integrate solutions with ERP data to drive faster and easier decisions

Develop reports based on MES and operational data

Develop data acquisition systems by working closely with controls engineers

Maintains, analyzes, and participates in modifications to existing systems

Analyze existing software code to make more efficient

Participates in development and testing of new systems and programs

Participate in deploying integrated MES solutions in the Fiberon facilities

Develop and execute end-user test plans as needed

Support project teams to help drive continuous improvement

Support corporate goals and objectives

24/7 technical support to ensure appropriate response and resolution to manufacturing issues are met

Qualifications: Qualifications

Associates or bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering OR 3-5 years demonstrated experience with software development in front end application and design of manufacturing execution systems

Experience with Python, Microsoft SQL databases, HTML, Java, and Expression languages

Demonstrated software application implementations into a production environment

Knowledge of Windows-based systems and MS Office Suite

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge of PLC’s, programming, tag structure, data collection

Knowledge of SCADA and MES software, such as Ignition

Knowledge of ERP system functionality, bill of materials (BOM’s), part/product configuration, and production scheduling/sequencing

Knowledge of Oracle Cloud Fusion ERP
