Hackensack Meridian Health seeks an experienced Geriatrician to provide care and expand services for the Center for Memory Loss and Brain Health and Hackensack University Medical Center in Hackensack, New Jersey. The successful candidate will be responsible for professional activity within the Division of Geriatrics and assure quality of patient care. Candidates with excellent clinical skills, strong communication and a commitment to outstanding patient care are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities 

  • Provide comprehensive ambulatory and inpatient consultative care with a focus on geriatrics and dementia care.
  • Support and enhance care protocols and quality improvement initiatives for geriatric services across ambulatory and acute care settings.
  • Conduct clinical research, promote activity to attract grants, and participate in investigational studies, publications, and national presentations to promote academic excellence.
  • Assist in teaching programs for medical students, residents, and fellows.
  • Participate in Grand Rounds and CME activities in geriatrics and medicine within the network.
  • Provide call coverage for evening, nights and weekends and when other clinicians are away as assigned.

Requirements Include

  • Completion of a fellowship in geriatric medicine in a recognized institution.
  • Board-certified/Board-eligible in Internal Medicine/Geriatrics.
  • Ability to obtain New Jersey Medical License, DEA and CDS license.
  • Experience in acute care and Dementia care for older adults.
  • Excellent clinical and teaching skills.
  • Proven commitment to research and quality improvement.
  • Experience in geriatric medicine and/or an affiliation with an academic institution.
  • Ability to relate effectively to all levels of the clinical and administrative structure of the medical center as well as of other institutions affiliated with the Division of Geriatrics.
