Position Overview:
As a Workers' Compensation Defense professional, you will be responsible for providing legal defense to employers in workers' compensation matters. You will handle all aspects of the defense process, including reviewing claims, gathering evidence, conducting legal research, preparing pleadings, and representing clients in court.
Position Responsibilities:
- Review workers' compensation claims and evaluate their validity
- Conduct thorough investigations to gather evidence and facts related to each claim
- Analyze and interpret legal documents, statutes, regulations, and case law
- Prepare legal pleadings, motions, and discovery requests
- Represent clients in workers' compensation hearings, mediations, and trials
Position Essential Job Functions:
- Provide legal advice and guidance to clients
- Develop litigation strategies and manage the progress of cases
- Conduct depositions and interviews with witnesses and experts
- Negotiate settlements and draft settlement agreements
- Stay up-to-date with changes in workers' compensation laws and regulations
Position Skills:
- 1-5 years of experience in workers' compensation defense
- Strong knowledge of workers' compensation laws, regulations, and procedures or open to making a change to workers’ compensation defense
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and deadlines
