IPG Photonics is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Technical Accountant to support our Corporate Finance team. This role is instrumental in enhancing our financial reporting processes, including preparing and analyzing external and internal financial reports at a consolidated level. Responsibilities
Support the Financial Reporting team in assessing financial reporting risks. Perform GAAP research and work with U.S. and foreign Finance teams to understand accounting practices. Manage 10-Q and 10-K SEC reporting; and assist with earnings release, earnings presentation and other financial reporting compliance. Oversee data loads and templates completed by the subsidiaries for accuracy, completeness, and operational trends. Research accounting topics, draft technical memos, and prepare presentations and training materials on new accounting standards as well as assist with training and other activities associated with implementation. Update the Company's policy and footnote disclosures to comply with new standards. Review monthly lease accounting activity and assist with lease accounting questions. Proactively build relationships within the various teams at IPG, including international controllers, U.S. Finance team, Sales, Purchasing, Legal, Investor Relations and IT. Coordinate with external auditors and internal resources to ensure timely and accurate delivery of audit schedules. Periodically assist internal audit with developing testing plans and evaluating internal control effectiveness and compliance with SOX. Ad-hoc projects including business combinations, inventory review, warranty provisions, and improvements to the reporting process. Mentor and coach less experienced accounting professionals. Provide expert guidance on complex accounting activities. Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or related discipline. Master's degree Preferred Accounting degree candidate with 6+ years public accounting experience; 4-6 years of progressive, relevant accounting experience. Public company SEC reporting experience. CPA required.
Skills:
Ideal candidate will display an ability to frame and evaluate complex issues quickly and possess strong problem resolution skills. Hands-on, detail-oriented starter with strong financial reporting and technical accounting skills. Demonstrated ability to mentor and coach team members effectively. Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills. Exceptional organizational skills with a keen attention to detail. Exposure to using Excel and other tools to create business related analysis.
