This entry level position performs limited aspects of technical supply management work (e.g., inventory management, storage management, cataloging, and property utilization) related to depot, local, or other supply activities. Work usually is segregated by commodity area or function, and controlled in terms of difficulty, complexity, or responsibility. Assignments usually relate to stable or standardized segments of technical supply management operations; or to functions or subjects that are narrow in scope or limited in difficulty. The work generally involves individual case problems or supply actions. This work may require consideration of program requirements together with specific variations in or from standardized guidelines.
Responsibilities
Receives, inspects, inventories, load, unloads, segregates, stores, issues, delivers and turns-in supplies and equipment. Prepares all supply documents with submission to the appropriate higher echelon of support. Supply Clerk uses automated Supply System access for accounting of supplies and equipment. Coordinates supply activities, Post transactions to supporting transaction files. Inventories, packages, and prepares supply items for shipment or storage. Provides direct assistance to the Supply Technician and/or Warehouse Worker as required. Maintains tools and equipment, such as banding/shipping equipment, packaging materials and cleans work areas to maintain a safe work environment. Be able to work outside in inclement weather conditions when necessary. Routinely operates commercial forklifts and pallet jacks to move warehouse inventory as required. Ensure that all tasks are performed safely and meet Government/Army standards when applicable. Wears safety items of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) e.g. gloves, safety shoes, protective eyewear, hearing protection, and other items such as aprons or outerwear as appropriate. Performs other tasks as required to support the mission and contractual requirements. Qualifications
Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident with verbal and written fluency in English. Must be able to pass a pre-employment background & drug screening. Must possess working knowledge of the Global Combat Support System - Army (GCSS-A). Must be able to pass a security and background investigation as well as drug/alcohol screening. Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Common Access Card. Must possess and maintain a valid state issued driver's license. Must be capable of lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling very heavy parts and loads weighing up to 50lbs. Must be able to climb, crawl, stoop, bend, squat, and reach as required to work on equipment.
