Position:
This is an exciting opportunity to join an established company that works with Federal contractors and has positions open throughout the country. APSI is currently seeking a QA Inspector with Mechanical Experience to be part of an Owner's agent (CMa) team in support of a Program for the General Services Administration on multiple Projects of varying value in Woodlawn, MD. This is a Full-Time position starting in January 2024 for approximately 2 years (with option for additional 2 years on the program) The QA Inspector with
Mechanical Experience will be an essential part of the CMa team and will provide sound and proactive management advice to GSA to ensure the project is run safely and all GSA standards are met. The QA Inspector with Mechanical Experience shall have full understanding of the project contract documents, GSA and end user goals and requirements as validated by the CO. The QA Inspector with Mechanical Experience shall effectively monitor, assess, coordinate, and inspect the construction work of the contractor on the behalf of GSA.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Maintain excellent relationships with clients, building occupants, the contractor and Design teams Provide daily site inspections to verify compliance with approved plans, specifications, and codes Coordinate in the field with clients/owners, consultants, contractors, designers, and regulatory agencies Prepare daily reports Review the Contractor's schedule Labor compliance Coordinate 3rd-party special material testing inspections Review and provide input on potential change order issues Maintain project records Manage project photographic records Verification of field surveys Report on project issues and provide status updates Perform other duties as may be required. Required Qualifications (Experience, Education, Certifications, Clearances, etc.):
The QA inspector should have ten (10) years of experience inspecting mechanical and plumbing construction. The inspector should be a master, journeyman or certified Mechanical inspector; Strong verbal and written communication skills; Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations with 30HR OSHA Safety card (prior to start); The ability to work well with others, and willingness to learn in a team environment; Strong computer skills, experience with Windows Office and construction management software. Experience working on projects in occupied buildings. Preferred Qualifications:
Experience as a Mechanical Inspector on GSA projects and familiarity with federal policies and procedures Experience as a Mechanical Inspector working on large interior office renovations.
