The Quality Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of quality assurance and control processes within our USDA food manufacturing facility. Reporting to the Operations Director, this role will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our products meet regulatory requirements, uphold our quality standards, and exceed customer expectations. Description Quality Assurance Manager Key Responsibilities: Quality Assurance:

Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance programs and procedures to ensure compliance with USDA regulations, food safety standards, and company policies. Quality Control:

Establish and execute robust quality control systems, including inspection protocols, product testing procedures, and quality metrics to monitor and maintain product quality throughout the production process. Documentation and Record Keeping:

Maintain accurate records, documentation, and reporting systems to track quality metrics, monitor trends, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Supplier Management:

Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to evaluate suppliers, conduct audits, and ensure that raw materials and ingredients meet quality specifications and standards. Continuous Improvement:

Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, streamline processes, and optimize operational efficiency within the quality department and across the organization. Training and Development:

Provide training and support to production staff on quality procedures, standards, and best practices to promote a culture of quality excellence and accountability. Non-Conformance Management:

Investigate and address non-conformities, customer complaints, and quality issues promptly, implementing corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence. Regulatory Compliance:

Stay informed about changes in USDA regulations, industry trends, and best practices, ensuring that the facility remains in compliance with all applicable regulations and standards. Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Collaborate closely with other departments, including production, R&D, engineering, and logistics, to address quality-related issues, support new product development initiatives, and drive overall business objectives. Profile

USDA Quality Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, or related field; advanced degree preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality assurance or quality control roles within the food manufacturing industry, preferably in a USDA-regulated environment. Strong knowledge of USDA regulations, HACCP principles, FSMA requirements, and food safety standards. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy and compliance. Experience with quality management systems, ERP systems, and data analysis tools preferred. SQF Certifications Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), or relevant professional certifications are a plus. Not for New York City Applicants.
