GIS Developer (Mid)
Location: 100% remote
Our client is looking for a
GIS Developer
to work on a conservation data platform as part of a cross-functional SAFe Agile scrum team. The successful candidate will be an experienced GIS Developer who has worked with open-source and ESRI technologies in the front-end and back-end and has worked with large geospatial natural resources datasets in an analytical capacity.
Responsibilities: Develop performant GIS applications displaying results of analytical modeling Assist with design and development of geospatial data delivery pipelines
Requirements :
Overall 6 years of related experience Bachelor's degree in computer science, geography, geosciences, or related field 5+ years working with GIS software, including open-source and COTS GIS software (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, QGIS, MapServer, GeoServer, GRASS GIS, etc.) 3+ years developing with open-source and COTS web mapping frameworks including ESRI JavaScript API, Leaflet, OpenLayers, and MapLibre 3+ years writing Python for geospatial analysis and automation (including open-source and ESRI geospatial libraries) Experience with open-source GIS frameworks required Experience with FME and/or other ETL technologies Experience working with large natural resources or scientific geospatial datasets Experience working with raster datasets and their derivatives Experience with spatial analysis, statistical analysis, and/or geospatial data modeling Experience writing Postgres/PostGIS, SQL Server Spatial, or Oracle Spatial backend queries Excellent communication skills
Preferred (one or more of the following) :
Experience developing with geospatial AI/ML technologies Experience with Voyager Search Experience with Docker and developing applications within an AWS environment Experience with RStudio, .NET Core, Typescript, and/or React Experience with Tableau, Power BI, or other dashboard technologies for data science visualization and reporting SAFe certification or experience working in an agile environment
