Principal Systems Architect (BMS and ESS) Work Location:
Onsite in Plano, TX Reporting To:
Director of Product Development Salary Range:
$130,000-$140,000 Classification:
Exempt, salaried, EEO Code: Professionals Core Responsibilities 1.
Systems Architecture Design BMS architectures for product line harmonization across programs. Maintain and update BMS software (SW) and hardware (HW) requirements. Promote global alignment in BMS functional requirements. Facilitate cross-functional team communications and clarify designs with suppliers. 2.
BMS Communication Interface Requirements Develop and globally align communication interface requirements. Produce topology charts and flow diagrams. Suggest and manage changes to communication interfaces. 3.
BMS Controls Requirements Define functional requirements for controls like contactor management and cell monitoring. Create high-level flow charts for controls requirements. 4.
Battery Safety Requirements Develop functional safety requirements (e.g., thermal management, gas detection). Ensure adherence to corporate and regulatory safety standards. 5.
General Engineering Support Create and execute test plans for BMS systems. Conduct Component DFMEA and aid validation/test teams. Collaborate cross-functionally to meet customer software needs. Technical Responsibilities Maintain expertise in lithium-based battery technologies. Develop inspection criteria and analyze cell behavior. Specify and test group controller requirements. Document system-level diagrams, topologies, and workflows. Qualifications Education:
B.S. in Engineering + 15 years of experience OR M.S. in Engineering + 10 years of experience
Skills and Experience:
Deep knowledge of ESS battery systems and electrification technologies. Familiarity with ASPICE, CMMI, and tools like DOORS, CANalyzer, and INCA. Expertise in BMS hardware components and battery test procedures. Strong communication and technical documentation skills. Willingness to travel up to 15%.
