Job Summary:
The Logistics Data Analyst is responsible for analyzing logistics data to identify trends, improve processes, promote automation and support decision-making. This role involves collaborating with various teams to enhance logistics efficiency and drive performance through data-driven insights.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Collection and Analysis: Collect, clean, and analyze logistics data from various sources to identify patterns, trends, and areas for improvement.
- Reporting: Create and maintain dashboards, reports, and presentations to communicate findings to stakeholders in an understandable manner. Consolidate cost and rates in a historical database.
- Process Improvement: Collaborate with logistics teams to develop and implement strategies for enhancing efficiency and effectiveness based on data insights.
- Metrics Development: Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure logistics performance and success.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including logistics, finance, and IT to support data-driven decision-making processes.
- Forecasting: Utilize statistical and analytical techniques to forecast logistics trends and inform strategic planning. In particular, calculate and budget the number of containers needed based on units
- Database Management: Maintain and optimize databases and data systems to ensure high-quality data availability and integrity.
- Ad-hoc Analysis: Perform ad-hoc analysis to support various projects and initiatives as needed.
- Training: Train and learn new reporting tools to enhance operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Data Science, or a related field.
- Experience: 2+ years of experience in data analysis, preferably within a logistics or business context; it can be partially substituted with relevant Logistics experience related to manufacturing, retail, inventory, and wholesale.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Excel, MS Query), data visualization software (e.g., Crystal Reports, Tableau, Power BI), and statistical analysis. Strong knowledge of database queries and pivot tables.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of presenting complex information clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Personal profile: Strong work ethic, self-starter, ability to work independently. High level of organization and attention to detail. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of ERP systems and data warehousing concepts.
- Familiarity with programming languages used in data analysis.
- Experience with Excel VBA
Working Conditions:
