Party City . We are searching for an attorney to join our high-performing legal department to report to our Vice President, Assistant Chief Counsel. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience in commercial transactions and work in a fast-paced, fully remote legal team with our exciting brands. The Senior Counsel will be responsible for providing legal advice and drafting and negotiating commercial contracts for the brands. Background in technology transactions (including working knowledge of privacy and data protection laws), corporate transactions, corporate governance, mergers/acquisitions and franchising is a plus. This position is fully remote, and the successful candidate may be located anywhere in the United States. Responsibilities:
Structure, draft, and negotiate a wide variety of agreements for consumer products licensing, marketing, services, corporate, and technology transactions. Monitor, manage, and review work and expenditures by outside counsel to ensure quality, value, and efficacy of legal services on various matters, including litigation. Provide legal analysis and advice regarding business initiatives and strategy for the brands, including counseling and collaborating with colleagues and outside counsel. Qualifications:
Member of a state bar in good standing or willingness and qualification to be registered in-house counsel. Graduate of an accredited law school. Minimum of three (3) years’ experience structuring, drafting, and negotiating commercial agreements, preferably specializing in consumer products, licensing, digital, technology and/or corporate in a corporate legal department or law firm. Team player with ability to take ownership of projects and independently handle a high volume of multiple, diverse projects simultaneously and under deadlines. Excellent writing, negotiating, and verbal communication skills. Strong ethics, sound judgment, and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and communicate effectively. The hiring range for this remote position is ($130,000.00 - $160,000.00) per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills and experience among other factors.
