We are in search of an Accounting Manager/Supervisor to join our team in Houston, Texas. The selected candidate will report directly to the Director of Finance and assist in managing the financial aspects of the organization. This includes tasks related to accounting, revenue recognition, payables, and managing department staff.
Responsibilities
• Assist the Director of Finance in the annual financial planning process, aligning it with the organization's strategic direction
• Manage day-to-day operations of the department staff
• Ensure cost controls are established and adhered to across all departments
• Assist the Director of Finance in preparing for the annual audit, tax returns, and other special finance department projects
• Maintain compliance with internal controls and financial procedures and processes, keeping them documented for reference
• Evaluate and maintain accounting software functionality, assisting with software conversions as needed
• Oversee daily financial activities such as payables, receivables, general ledger entries, banking, purchasing, reporting, budget monitoring, and reconciliations
• Collaborate with the Development Department to provide necessary financial information to meet grant deadlines and perform monthly reconciliations between accounting software and development department CRM
• Assist in the annual budgeting process and cash flow probability, providing assistance to other departments in developing and understanding their respective budgets
• Assist the Director of Finance in producing all monthly financial reports
• Represent the organization at external and internal gatherings as appropriate.

Key requirements for the position:
• Knowledge in Non-profit Accounting is essential
• Familiarity with Fund Accounting - Non-Profit is required
• Proficient in Accounting Software Systems
• Thorough understanding of Accounting Functions
• Experienced in managing Accounts Payable (AP)
• Skilled in overseeing Accounts Receivable (AR)
