Accounting Specialist Job Summary
Serves a critical role within the Club Administration department by fulfilling Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions.Manages all Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions and is an integral part of the accounting team. Provides accounting assistance as appropriate to Director of Accounting and to members, guests, and vendors.
Assists the accounting department in daily, monthly, and annual activities. Maintains accurate and complete records, including ledgers, invoices, and receipts. Use documents to verify, record and process transactions. Keep accurate records of all incoming and outgoing payments. Ensure invoices are paid and member account balances remain current.

Essential Functions (primary functions and/or reasons the job exists)
- Fulfills Accounts Receivables functions including but not limited to verifying daily revenue receipts, posting all revenue from club departments to accounting system, conducting daily deposits, posting payments to Member accounts, processing credit card payments, producing monthly Member and reciprocal statements, making check and cash deposits, and mailing statements.
- Fulfills Accounts Payables functions including but not limited to daily operations for processing invoices to ensure timely payments are made. Review and verify the accuracy of invoices. Enter invoice data accurately into the accounts payable system, including invoice amounts, cost center allocations, and relevant details. Act as the primary point of contact for vendor inquiries related to invoices and payments, promptly resolving any issues or discrepancies. Actively oversee the invoice approval process by ensuring that invoices move efficiently through approval process, collaboratively with departments and managers to obtain necessary approvals in a timely manner. Speak with vendors and suppliers to ensure charges are accurate, and payments are received promptly. Review and process employee expenses through accounting software. Add/update vendor data in accounting system.
- Any other tasks and responsibilities as delegated by the Director of Accounting.
Desired Qualification/Experience/Certification/Education (in order of importance)
- Bachelors degree in accounting or finance is preferred or equivalent work experience in a related field.
- Demonstrated strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrated strong organization skills, attention to detail and ability to adapt to various situations/needs quickly.
- Demonstrated ability to follow through on commitments and meet deadlines.
- Proven ability to collaborate with peers, team, and leadership in support of the Club operations.
- Valid drivers license and a driving record that conforms to company standards.

- Ability to communicate effectively in a collaborative work environment utilizing various technologies such as telephone, computer, web, voice, teleconferencing, email, etc.
- Ability to work on a computer consistently 8 hours per day.
- Must be able to reach, bend, stoop, stand, lift, and carry up to 15 pounds.

Available shifts and compensation: Available shifts all days except Sundays and Saturdays. Compensation is $24.00 - $30.00/hour.
