Summary of Job Description

As an Accounting Clerk, you will perform various accounting and bookkeeping duties in line with established policies and procedures. Your role is vital in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records through tasks such as recording transactions, reconciling accounts, and preparing financial reports. You will support accounts payable and receivable functions, process invoices, and prepare payments. Your attention to detail, proficiency in accounting software, and analytical skills will be essential in managing financial data and aiding decision-making processes. Your efforts will contribute to maintaining regulatory compliance and optimizing financial performance.

The hourly rate for this position is $22.00.

To be successful in this role you will:
  • Understand and align with the hotel's mission, vision, and goals while prioritizing tasks and working efficiently with minimal supervision.
  • Exhibit effective verbal and written communication skills and demonstrate strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Handle cash and balance the cash drawer accurately.
  • Be proficient in basic computer skills and accounting software, and be a strong team player, working professionally with management and other employees.
  • Generate accounting statements and reports, research, code, and post cash receipts.
  • Prepare daily bank deposits, oversee accounts receivable, write-offs, and payment reversals, and organize and maintain financial records and retention files.
  • Provide monthly financial and management reports and assist in financial management and analysis as requested.
  • Compile and sort documents such as invoices and checks to substantiate business transactions and verify and post details of business transactions.
  • Compute and record charges, refunds, and costs of lost or damaged goods, reconcile bank statements as needed, and address guest billing complaints.
  • Follow hotel policies, standard operating procedures, and safety standards, ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal laws and regulations, and maintain confidentiality of guest, employee, and hotel information.
