Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist the CPA and Consulting firm with the implementation of Unanet accounting system.
Develop and maintain internal controls and financial accounting systems for internal and external reporting and analysis. Ensure internal controls and confidentiality are established, maintained and revised as appropriate; monitor procedural systems, identify issues/weaknesses and recommend changes and/or improvements.
Contribute to organizational goals by providing strategic financial analysis and financial information. Assist in the development of long and short-term business operating goals. Ensure all legal and regulatory compliance regarding all financial functions.
Perform all finance and accounting reporting matters including: monthly/quarterly/annual closings; budgeting; forecasting, A/P, A/R, revenue recognition, cash management/treasury and vendor management. Manage banking and vendor relationships.
Process a constantly changing payroll for 500+ employees each pay period. Ensure proper payment to employees, taxing authorities, and maintain comprehensive payroll records ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations and guidelines.
Ensure timeliness, accuracy and usefulness of financial and management reporting for the CEO and Board of Directors. Prepare and communicate regular financial information to Executive Management Team.
Develop, analyze and interpret statistical and accounting information in order to appraise operating results in terms of profitability, performance against budget and other matters bearing on the fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness of the company.
Develop and maintain planning and budgeting systems, prepare annual departmental budget and manage corporate financial performance. Prepare all month end activities, including general ledger maintenance, balance sheet reconciliations and corporate/overhead cost allocations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting
7+ years of progressive finance experience including general accounting, financial statement preparation and reconciliations.
3+ years of experience as a corporate Accounting Manager. This position requires someone who will be very “hands-on” with all duties.
5+ years of experience performing and managing payroll processes.
Must possess exceptionally strong Excel skills
Strong management, interpersonal and communication skills.
Highly organized and detail oriented.
Desired:
MBA or MS in Accounting/Finance
CPA certificate
