Harvey Automotive Group is looking for an experienced, GM-Certified Engine / Transmission Technician/Mechanic to join our team! We are a local family-owned store with a great reputation. Responsibilities - Technician:

  • Perform multi-point inspection and diagnose malfunction(s)
  • Efficiently repair automotive systems, including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air-conditioning, etc., in accordance with dealership standards
  • Explain mechanical diagnoses/required repairs in a non-technical manner to service advisors and customers
  • Provide an estimate of the time needed for repairs
  • Test-drive vehicles before and after repairs
  • Test components and systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
  • Learn new technical information and techniques in training sessions
  • Adhere to company regulations and keep abreast of recalls and updates.
  • Report any damaged or defective equipment to management.
  • Report safety issues to management and ensure a clean working area.

 


Qualifications/Requirements - Technician:

  • GM certification and experience required
  • Ability to read and comprehend written instructions and information
  • Knowledge in all aspects of automotive repair and maintenance
  • Must be a quick learner and team player
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Ensures that customer’s cars are kept clean
  • Maintain stall in an orderly and clean manner
  • Ability to identify problems
  • Math, reading, and computer skills
  • Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedure and specifications
  • Able to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
