ASSOCIATE FACULTY POOL: PHLEBOTOMY INSTRUCTOR/CLINICAL LAB INSTRUCTOR - ALLIED HEALTH PROGRAMS

FOR CLASSROOM, CLINICAL SUPERVISION AND LAB INSTRUCTION

LOCATION: Lynnwood Washington

DESCRIPTION: Positions in this field teach and/or assist with courses taught primarily within the Phlebotomy program. Clinical Lab Assistant and general Allied Health Education courses may be offered dependent on need. Instructors are members of the Allied Health faculty and will be responsible for assisting with clinical supervision and lab instruction along with traditional and online classroom courses. Part of the teaching assignment may include morning or late afternoon and/or evening classes. Responsibilities will include: supervising/instructing in classroom and clinical areas; developing and scheduling clinical externships for students and recruiting additional clinical sites to support courses. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

* Educational qualifications related to specific discipline (i.e. AA degree, Bachelor's degree), current (or eligible for) State of Washington MA-P certification.

* Teaching or training experience equivalent to one college quarter.

* Two years of recent full-time work experience in the clinical lab environment, including recent experience.

* Excellent verbal, listening, problem-solving, critical thinking and writing skills.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

* Teaching experience in a college or clinical setting.

* Three years of supervisory experience in clinical lab environment, including supervision of clinical students.

* Ability to work effectively with students and staff of various cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.

* Computer skills and the ability to apply technology to the allied health education curriculum.

* Experience developing curricula and assessments.

PHYSICAL WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work is typically performed in a variety of settings including classrooms, skills labs and off campus clinical sites. Standing or sitting for long periods of time may occur in any of the settings mentioned. The ability to speak clearly and fully comprehend written and spoken English is essential.

COMPENSATION:

Work schedule is based on an eleven week quarterly schedule and could vary each quarter. Salary is dependent upon contract load and mode of instruction. A standard five-credit "lecture mode" class would be approximately $5,865.82 at Step A.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

* You must document your citizenship or employment authorization within three days of hire.

* Criminal background check. Prior to a new hire, a background check including criminal history will be conducted. Information from the background check will not necessarily preclude employment but will be considered in determining the applicant's suitability and competence to perform in the position.

* All new positions are contingent upon funding.

* At this time, Edmonds College does not sponsor H1-B Visas.
