General Information-
The Buyer role within the Supply Chain Management organization at Aurora Flight Sciences is responsible for procurement of a diverse portfolio of programs. The Buyer will be a key role in procuring an array of materials for the organization across a variety of programs as part of aircraft development. Procurement of build-to-print parts and commercial off the shelf components are core functions of this role. This is a virtual position.
Type of background you are looking for (education, # yrs experience, etc.): Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain or equivalent work experience in Procurement/Supply Chain Management. Minimum of 3 (three) years' experience as a Buyer. Overall, 5 (five) years' experience in Supply Chain Management.
• Open communication with suppliers?: Yes, will communicate with suppliers and internal program team.
Required Skills/Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain or equivalent work experience in Procurement/Supply Chain Management.
• Minimum of 3 (three) years' experience as a Buyer.
• Overall 5 (five) years' experience in Supply Chain Management.
• Must be a U.S. Person.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
• Experience purchasing Build-to-Print parts from machine shops/fabricators.
• Knowledge of compliance acquisition procedures and FAR/DFAR requirements.
• Purchasing experience to include development of RFPs, statements of work, evaluation criteria, and source selection criteria.
• Excellent communication and relationship building skills to enable effective relationships with suppliers, Engineering, and Program Management.
• Experience with both development and production programs in the aerospace industry.
• International subcontract experience with working knowledge of import/export compliance and ITAR regulations.
Education / Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+1 years' related work experience , 7 years' related work experience, etc.).
