Primary Responsibilities

  • Administer Leave of Absences for a U.S. Region (Disability, FMLA, etc)
  • Ensure HDR leave program is compliant with State and Federal leave laws
  • Process payments for short-term disability
  • Track FMLA usage
  • Answer routine to moderately complex benefit-related questions and troubleshoot questions on employee coverage
  • Act as a liaison between insurance carriers and employees or office HR representatives as needed
  • Process various insurance carrier monthly invoices
  • Conduct monthly and quarterly audits with insurance carriers
  • Audits with accounting as needed
  • Assist in administering global benefit programs such as Canada, UAE, Australia
  • Involved with administering the Open Enrollment Process
  • Administer Paid Time Away programs globally
  • Maintain internal Benefits Intranet Site
  • Develop employee education and communication pieces

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or closely related field
  • A minimum of 3 years of related benefits experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn and utilize company information management systems
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment with associates
  • Capability of effective planning and priority setting
  • Ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical skills and a thorough knowledge of plan designs
  • Ability to understand, evaluate and judge standard claims for benefit program(s) and knowledge of benefits contract language
  • Basic knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements, both adopted and pending, affecting employee benefits programs, including ERISA, FMLA, ADA, Section 125, workers' compensation, Medicare, COBRA, and Social Security and DOL requirements
  • Excellent communication, client service and organization skills
  • Ability to travel; percentage of total time less than 10% but number of days within a limited period may be high
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
