Integrated Talent Strategies (ITS) is working with a leading manufacturer and is looking to add an experienced Quality Engineer to their expanding team. The Quality Engineer is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the quality and compliance standards for a wide range of fastening solutions. Familiarity with AS9100, Quality Management Systems, and Root Cause Corrective Action is essential. This role involves collaborating with suppliers to drive quality improvements, assess supplier capabilities, and ensure that our supply chain meets the highest aerospace industry standards.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and select suppliers based on their capabilities, quality systems, and adherence to industry standards. Conduct regular supplier audits and assessments.
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance processes and procedures for suppliers.
- Create incoming inspection work instructions and forms.
- Use risk analysis methodologies to determine incoming inspection needs and align inspection techniques with suppliers.
- Ensure purchase orders include drawing, contract, and regulatory requirements.
- Assist with processing product returns.
- Monitor supplier performance, track quality metrics, and drive corrective actions when necessary.
- Work closely with suppliers to improve product quality, resolve quality issues, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Foster strong relationships with key suppliers.
- Ensure suppliers meet aerospace industry quality standards such as AS9100 and ISO 9001, and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Investigate and identify root causes of quality issues, non-conformities, and defects. Implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Collaborate with suppliers to enhance their manufacturing processes, product quality, and reliability. Provide guidance and support to suppliers in implementing best practices.
- Maintain accurate records of supplier assessments, quality audits, and corrective actions. Prepare reports and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field; a Master's degree is a plus.
- 3-5 years of experience in quality engineering or related roles within the relevant industry.
- Essential experience in supplier quality engineering, including auditing suppliers, managing supplier relationships and driving quality improvements. Previous experience in a supplier quality engineering role within the aerospace industry is preferred.
