JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY We are seeking a qualified Purchasing Agent to join our team. In this position you will play a key role in the company's Purchasing functions and assist in organizing and awarding supplier contracts. Additionally, you will work with subcontractors and suppliers on purchasing materials and maintaining accurate contracts and budgets.

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY We are seeking a qualified Purchasing Agent to join our team. In this position you will play a key role in the company's Purchasing functions and assist in organizing and awarding supplier contracts. Additionally, you will work with subcontractors and suppliers on purchasing materials and maintaining accurate contracts and budgets.
DUTIES INCLUDE (but not limited to):
- Prepare plan take-offs, evaluate bids, and create construction budgets
- Provide hard cost estimates for proformas
- Manage NewStar PO system
- Process invoices weekly for compliance with bids, negotiated unit pricing and established budgets
- Identify new vendors in the market
- Assist in resolving issues and conflicts related to Trade Partner activities
- Work with the accounting team to ensure timely payment to trade partners by monitoring AP reports and providing feedback
- Prepare direct costs analysis and variances for review
- Interact with architect/engineering regarding plan changes impacting take-offs
- Analyze plans for cost analysis recommendations and research cost of proposed design ideas
- Value engineer plans, products, and processes
- Assist with creating and working through specifications
- Negotiate bids with trade contractors
- Rebate Tracking
- Maintain all Trade Contractor Agreements, Scopes of Work, of Insurance Certificates
- Perform all other duties as required
- College degree or equal work experience
- Experience working in construction
- Experience with NewStar a plus
- Ability to read and understand construction plans
- Must be efficient, detail oriented, and a quick learner
- Ability to multitask
- Proficient in using MS Excel, MS Outlook, Bluebeam or Planswift experience preferred
