Position Summary
The development student assistant will work under the direction of the Botanical Garden Director of Development. The student worker will assist the director and Donor Relations Coordinator with fundraising, stewardship, and Board of Advisors duties along with other tasks as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies
Along with knowledge about fundraising and stewardship, the student should demonstrate good organizational and interpersonal skills, the ability to learn required systems, and the ability to use sound judgement and reasoning skills and have a good work ethic.

Duties/Responsibilities

Fundraising
- Assist with quarterly annual fund drives
- Prepare solicitation packages and proposals
- Assist with scheduling travel and out of town donor visits
Stewardship
- Prepare donation acknowledgement letters
- Monthly one-page communication to BOA and major donors
- Assist with personal handwritten thank you notes
- Deliver stewardship items in person (when appropriate) to Athens-area donors
Board of Advisors
- Update board directory
- Keep board portal up-to-date
- Assist with BOA meetings (agenda, location, set-up, emails, etc.)
- Set up board committee meetings (by Zoom)
- Coordinate BOA orientation for September (at the direction of Director & Coordinator)
