Events & Conference Tech Coordinator (PT)

We are seeking a Events Conference Tech Coordinator that will be responsible for overseeing all Information Technology and Audio-visual aspects of events and conferences held at Passaic County Community College. The coordinator will oversee planning, coordination, and execution of a wide range of events and meetings at all four campus locations. The successful candidate will possess strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.

This is a hourly, part-time position.

Key Responsibilities:

Event Planning:

  • Collaborate with College staff and event contacts to gather the technical requirements for the function.
  • Develop technical specifications and floor plans for events.
  • Oversee and provide technical support during events, including setup, operation, and breakdown.
Technical Oversight:
  • Ensure the proper functioning of all audio, video, lighting, and other technical equipment used in events.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and provide timely solutions.
  • Stay updated on the latest industry trends and technologies.
  • Maintain and inventory all AV equipment.
Team Management:
  • Oversee and coordinate the work of AV technicians supporting events.
  • Schedule and assign tasks to ensure efficient operations.
Qualifications:
  • Associates Degree required; bachelor's degree preferred in a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in technical event production.
  • Excellent organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong knowledge of theatrical lighting systems, digital mixers, sound reinforcement, and PA systems.
  • Knowledge of Zoom presentation software.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
