Location
Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.
Department Information
The Mechanical Engineering Department is the largest department in the Southern Polytechnic College of Engineering and Engineering Technology with over 1650 undergraduate and 50 graduate students. The department is the home of 25 nationally renowned full-time faculty members with diverse research interests, including smart materials, bioengineering, nanotechnology, soft robots, nuclear energy, and aerodynamics. While focusing on the application of the principles of mechanics and energy to design cutting-edge technology, mechanical engineering offers students a foundation to begin their careers in an ever-changing environment. The Mechanical Engineering department offers a Mechanical Engineering Bachelor's Degree, a Mechanical Engineering Master's Degree, an Aerospace Engineering Minor, and a Nuclear Engineering Minor. The Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering program is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET. Job Summary
Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a pool of part-time faculty positions in the Department of Mechanical Engineering for the academic year 2024-2025. These positions are on an as needed basis. Rank is determined at the time of hiring and will be commensurate with experience. This position is for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.
Responsibilities
Teaching responsibilities include one or more undergraduate courses and/or laboratories in the mechanical engineering Bachelor of Science program. Subject examples are engineering mechanics-dynamics, machine dynamics & vibrations, MATLAB, thermodynamics, heat transfer, dynamic systems & control theory, manufacturing engineering, product realization, and machine design. Classes are taught in the day and evening, face-to-face and online.
Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.

Required Qualifications
- A minimum of a Master's degree, or its foreign equivalent, in Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field is required for an Instructor position.
- Terminal/Doctorate degree, or its foreign equivalent, in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field is required for an Assistant Professor position.
- Professional Engineering License or industry experience.
- Prior teaching experience.
