Job Title: CT Technologist
Job Specialty: Radiology - CT
Job Duration: 9 Months
Shift:
- Shift 1: Saturday 11 PM - Sunday 7 AM
- Shift 2: Sunday 3 PM - 11 PM
- Shift 3: Monday 3 PM - 11 PM
Guaranteed Hours: 22.50 hours per week
Experience: At least 1 year of experience in CT
License: New York State License (L.R.T)
Certifications:
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification in Radiography and CT
- BLS certification
Must-Have:
- Licensure with NYS DOH as a Radiologic Technologist
- ARRT certification in Radiography and CT
- Ability to speak, read, and write in English
Job Description:
- Perform CT procedures according to the prescribed protocols to ensure uniformity and accuracy.
- Utilize appropriate kV and mA techniques to ensure quality diagnostic CT images.
- Conduct daily quality control calibration checks on all equipment to ensure it's calibrated and functioning properly before patient studies.
- Inject patients with radioactive material as per the physician's order, following the prescribed protocol.
- Adhere to department documentation policies by completing all appropriate logs, manuals, and charge documents, and report equipment issues to comply with regulatory agencies.
- Perform quality control, assurance, and safety tests while following radiation safety guidelines in compliance with the ALARA principle.
- Maintain, develop, and retrieve patient films and electronic data for Radiologist interpretation.
- Order patient-specific radiopharmaceutical doses one day prior to use.
- Receive radiopharmaceutical on the day of delivery and verify proper receipt per policy and procedure. Verify activity level of doses prior to administration.
- Exercise appropriate judgment to assess and respond to patients' needs before, during, and after visits in the Radiology department.
