The Center for Vaccine Development and Global Health (CVD) is a premiere vaccinology research center that aims to promote health and equity by defeating infectious diseases through conduct of multi-disciplinary, innovative vaccine and infectious disease research to improve lives locally and globally. The CVD Seeks to hire a Program Specialist to join their Malaria Research Program team. The Program Specialist will assist with administrative and programmatic duties for an NIH-supported Vaccinology Training Program. All employees are expected to work primarily physically within the State of Maryland. * *Primary Duties: * Assist with the daily operations of the Integrated Training Program in Vaccinology (ITP-VAX) and Center for Vaccine Development and Global Health (CVD). * Interact with students, faculty, staff, and outside/community agencies in facilitating program objectives. Serve as a primary contact to resolve questions and make decisions related to the program. * Develop and schedule program work plan in accordance with specifications and funding requirements; organize and track program activities to ensure tasks are completed as expected. * Manage the ITP-VAX application process and work with faculty mentors to identify suitable candidates for the program. * Develop written products for program such as training materials, website content, and reporting, schedule meetings between trainees and mentors, and serve as a liaison between trainees and faculty. * Monitor and track program expenses against budget. Prepare financial reports to make recommendations on the use of funds. * Assist with grant submissions to diverse funders, including the development of budgets and other study documents. * Oversee procurement of supplies and services for program. * Provide routine and non-routine technical advice, problem solving assistance, and provide administrative support such as scheduling, preparing travel requests, and expense reports. * Recommend resources for the improvement of the university, department, and program. * Develop and facilitate workshops, meetings or conferences, and coordinate logistics. * Perform other administrative duties, as necessary. Education: Bachelor's degree. Experience: Two (2) years administrative or program coordination experience. Other: Related experience to program may be substituted for education. Ability to prepare financial statements and budgets. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Knowledge of position requirements. Knowledge of all applicable requirements, regulations, and laws. Skill in effective use of applicable technology/systems. Ability to effectively communicate both verbal and written thoughts, ideas, and facts. Ability to work cooperatively with others and independently.
