Job Summary:
The Department of Psychiatry has an opening for a full-time Child & Adolescent Advanced Practice Provider position. Under the direction of the full-time faculty or designee, this position provides medical care services at the Gary Pavilion of Children's Hospital Colorado, through the University of Colorado School of Medicine - Anschutz Campus.
Key Responsibilities:
Independent healthcare provider working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary health team to provide comprehensive care to patients.
Responsible for assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management, education, health promotion and care coordination for patients and families.
Works with administrative, nursing, physician, and university faculty to assure safe, effective, quality patient care and to promote educational and research missions.
Provides care within their scope of practice as outlined by applicable state law, licensing, regulations, and institutional policy and practice agreements.
Orders appropriate diagnostic studies and correctly interprets results.
Develops, implements, evaluates, and alters the plan of care as needed.
Maintains accurate, complete, concise and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
Provides care that is patient and family centered, compassionate, appropriate and effective for the promotion of health, prevention of illness and treatment of disease throughout the lifespan.
Communicates and collaborates effectively with physicians, other health professionals and health related agencies.

The Department of Psychiatry is one of the largest units in the UCD-SOM and is comprised of 5 Divisions. Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
This is an open rank position and could be categorized as Instructor, Senior Instructor or Assistant Professor based on experience and qualifications as indicated below:
Academic rank will be determined during the interview process after discussion between you and the department about your previous experience and academic desires.
Instructor:
1-3 years of related clinical experience at rank or equivalent experience.
Applicants must possess a Colorado RN license and Board Certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or equivalent certification. Prescriptive authority is required.
PA applicants must be nationally certified by the NCCPA and have passed the Psychiatry Specialty Exam (CAQ).
Must have prior experience in a Child Psychiatric setting (may include experience as a RN prior to APRN training).
Sr. Instructor:
1-3 years of related clinical experience at rank or equivalent experience.
Applicants must possess a Colorado RN license and Board Certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or equivalent certification. Prescriptive authority is required.
PA applicants must be nationally certified by the NCCPA and have passed the Psychiatry Specialty Exam (CAQ).

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with pediatric populations with medical complexity, in early childhood, and with families
Demonstrated skills in the use of developmentally and diagnostically appropriate screening and assessment tools
Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team model and with colleagues, medical specialists, and trainees
Commitment to multiculturalism and experience with diverse populations
Ability to deliver services in Spanish is preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse population of faculty, staff and students.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently
Capacity for flexibility and adaptability in different work situations
Excellent written and verbal communication skills including presentations to community audiences
